Scholarship opportunities

We offer scholarships throughout the year for women entering STEM fields.

We are committed to supporting women entering STEM fields by awarding scholarships and creating networking opportunities. Scholarships are awarded to young women from diverse backgrounds focusing on STEM and environmental studies. We are primarily focusing our efforts on women in disadvantaged communities. To-date, we’ve awarded $7,300.

Marketa’s Journey offers several scholarships throughout the year. Those that are currently open for application are listed below.

Marketa’s Journey Scholarship

This is a $1,000 scholarship supporting women entering the engineering field.

Apply by 3/15/2024. The application criteria are:

  • Identify as a woman
  • Graduating high school senior
  • Pursuing engineering/environmental studies in college

Attracting Women into Engineering

Marketa’s Journey is offering three (3) scholarships for the AWE Summer Program (Attracting Women into Engineering) at Rowan University. Interested students must apply directly to the AWE program at Rowan via their website at https://engineering.rowan.edu/deans_office/k-12/awe/.

The program is open to Middle School girls (2023-2024 school year). Students participate in hands-on projects, exciting demos, and tours of real engineering labs. This four-day, non-residential workshop empowers girls to explore diverse engineering paths and discover their potential to shape the future.

  • Held July 8, 9, 10 & 11, 2024 (Monday – Thursday)
  • 9:00 am – 12:30 pm each day
  • Held on-campus at the Henry M. Rowan College of Engineering in Glassboro

Each AWE registrant will be eligible for one of the three Marketa’s Journey Scholarships.
